My mom smokes 3 packs a day and a lot of cigars daily, saying that she needs smoke to feel good. Is it true?

My mom is 50 years old heavy chain-smoking woman for years. She is on her 3 packs a day habit with no intense to quit or cut it down. She is smoking for about 25 years, and she is always with a ciggie in her mouth smoking like a chimney and every day she smokes more and more. She also likes to smoke two cigs at once saying that she really needs to smoke more to feel good. In a recent years she started to smoke cigars on a daily purpose, she is really deeply inhaling them and says that she likes big smoke that fills her inside. She has a female friends about her age, who also smokes a lot and when they come to our house it is smoke everywhere i'm almost out of breath.

And my mom changed a lot. She looks older than she is, she got wrinkles on her face too early, she has a yellow tar stained teeth and very bad breath, she is always coughing a lot and constantly out of breath, sometimes i noticed that she is feeling dizzy, but she says she is ok. Is it big problem? Is it true ?My mom smokes 3 packs a day and a lot of cigars daily, saying that she needs smoke to feel good. Is it true?
Yes, unfortunately, it is a big problem. Smoking any amount of cigarettes puts you at risk for serious health problems.

For someone who smokes, the chemistry of the brain changes, so that they do ';need'; that fix. That's why it is an addiction...and one of the worst ones to kick. Sad to say, but unless she decides to quit, there's really nothing you can do.My mom smokes 3 packs a day and a lot of cigars daily, saying that she needs smoke to feel good. Is it true?
She thinks smoking makes her feel good.

There is no doubt she has a BIG problem.

I don't think you will be able to help her because she doesn't have any desire to stop smoking. There damage from smoking 25 years is there. I hope she will continue to feel good for a long time and find pleasure in her life.

I am sorry you have to see her like this.
yes. you need to get her to stop smoking. have and intervention or something, you just need to do it. also it is not good for you if you live in that house. did you know that breathing just as much secondhand smoke as firsthand is 2x worse? twice the damage. do something to help her, she needs it. she probably wants to quit, but is so addicted that she cannot and the thought of quitting quickly escapes her mind. you are probably the only one that can help her, if no one else. whatever you have to do, burn the cigarettes, douse them in bleach, tear em up, dump em in water, WHATEVER! just do it.
