My mom says a person cant learn how to sing in key is that true?

I just started to sing today because i wanna start singing and i don't sing in key so i said Ill learn how and my mom said a person cant learn how to sing in key. is there anyway to learn how to sing in key or can never sing =(My mom says a person cant learn how to sing in key is that true?
it depends- you certainly cant learn it all in one day!





but if you have the ear for it you Can learn. your teacher will show you how to learn - and then however much Hard WORK! you put into it will take you farther.. you do have to realize that some people cannot sing in key because they cannot hear it- i dont know how to explain it further.

Yes you can learn to sing in key.





The first step is to get to a piano or other keyboard and hit a note and match it as good as possible. Then try another and another. After a while, try to sing a note before playing it on the keyboard.





After a few weeks of practice, if you still cannot hit the notes well, blame your parents because it isn't in your genes. But I think you will do OK becayse if your mother can hear that you sing off-key, she has it in her genes.
Sometimes it helps to sing with another person (not a recording) who is good at doing whatever you have a problem with. You have to listen both to them and to yourself, and try to match their pitch. Most people can learn with a little work, as long as their hearing and voice don't have actual damage.
yes I believe anybody can learn to sing in key but it takes alot of practice and helps to have somebody listen to you to make sure you are hitting the correct notes
