well technacly you are under age...so your mother is right..but you did the right thing by telling your mom...but i do believe she is going a little over bord by making such a big deal out of it... she should understand that you like this guy, and the best thing she can do for you is be there..who knows, she might end up liking him as a son in law..just bring him around the family...to break the ice between him and your mother.

find out the age of consent for your state, and then decide if you really wanna have sex with a man who's so much older than you. at your age i doubt that you will stay with him forever, so when you do split up it will hurt so much more, especially if you end up pregnant! do continue to talk to your mom ok?

I know in the state of Florida that 16 is the legal age for a women to have sex with a man 18 and over. I met my fiance when I was 15 and he was 20. To me, most men are a lot more immature then women. Just because he is older then you doesn't mean he will hurt you, leave you and it doesn't mean that it can't grow into something more. My great aunt and her husband are 7 years apart in age, they have been married 30 years. Me and my fiance are 6 years apart in age and have been together 7 years and have two beautiful children.
